Dear liaison committee member,
The NAWQA liaison meeting planned for Thursday, December 7 has been changed to Thursday, December 14 due to a conflict with a NAWQA trace elements workshop. The NAWQA meeting will still be held in the USEPA Region II conference room in Edison, NJ. Enclosed is a preliminary agenda for your information.
Since our last meeting, we and other NAWQA folks have been putting together work plans. The 1991 NAWQA studies are entering their low intensity phase (LIP) and are trying to balance their efforts in writing up reports and designing efficient data collection at some reduced number of sites for trend detection with their much reduced level of funding. The VOC national synthesis team is busy writing up new design guidelines for assessing VOCs in urban environments, we'll discuss this some at our meeting. We, the LINJ and other 1994 studies, have been trying to balance a comprehensive design for the next three years with getting some early data analysis/reports completed. We'll discuss our data analysis results so far in the context of how they helped us plan our design, but you can see that most of the meeting is intended to present the design for the next three years of data collection and get your feedback.
