Coastal Plain Aquifer Synoptic Water-Level Measurements and Chloride Network
Project Title: NJ00208/20 Coastal Plain Aquifer Synoptic Water-Level Measurements and Chloride Network
Statement of Problem
Groundwater withdrawals from the Coastal Plain aquifers of New Jersey have increased steadily since 1900. Because water levels are directly a function of groundwater withdrawals a need exists for the evaluation of potentiometric surfaces with respect to the distribution of water use.
Strategy and Approach
Water levels and Chloride concentrations will be measured synoptically on a 5-year cyclic basis.
